A new year for knitting workshops

And a resolution to keep the blog up to date....................
The last two months in a nutshell -
The end of 2012 disappeared in a blur.

Roger and Culli wood turning
The Open House in November in spite of the foul weather was reasonably successful with plenty of visitors on the Saturday but a disappointing turn out on the Sunday. We had some fabulous new exhibitors and although the barn still has no front it made a good display space. Pam braved the elements and sat out there with her easel demonstrating her painting techniques and Roger set up his lathe for wood-turning sessions.
Lots of plans for painting and wood-turning courses are being hatched.
Bix

A very sad end to the year, we lost our dear friend and neighbour Mervyn to cancer and Bix our big gentle giant Golden Retriever, life in La Verderie will be very quiet without them.
Boxing Day walk on the beach
Christmas was quiet, six of us here for lunch then a Boxing Day walk on the beach, followed by all the family arriving for five days, noisy, exhausting but lots of fun.
2013 has started well, I am on a decorating spree, the bookshelves in the dining room have gone, the staircase has been painted, new knitted cushions and throws are wip and furniture is being transformed.
Five of the workshops and retreats for this year are already fully booked, there are still a few spaces left for the retreats in April, May and October - see here
My old college mate Kim was here for a few days over New Year with her new man, we had a very relaxed week eating and drinking far too much, then on the last day a trip to Bordeaux. It is such a beautiful city with so much to see, beautiful wide streets, designer shops, gorgeous cakes and chocolates..............
